SPORT MAKES THEM GREAT
Paideuterion School began its sporting activity in the area of handball in the 1976-77 academic year and over the course of the different seasons up to the present time has achieved great achievements at both the regional and national level.
In order to give greater impetus to handball, in the 1982-83 season the Club Polideportivo Paideuterion was created with registration number 10918 in the Consejo Superior de Deportes. Later, in the 1998-99 season, it was registered in the Register of Sports Entities of the Junta de Extremadura with the number CD 403. Within the Club and in the 1987-88 season, the Handball School was created with the aim of promoting this sport to the maximum, since we already had the necessary elements, both in the field of infrastructure and human resources, to carry out a more programmed and systematic work.
Our greatest achievements so far, apart from the many Extremadura championships won and the participations in Spanish championships, have been to have a team in the Second Division with players and coaches from our quarry since the 1991-92 season.
It is also worth noting that Alejandro Cid, Carlos Encinas, Rubén Criado, Mané Gil, Alex Criado, Israel Corrales have played and are playing in several first division teams. Another important achievement is that Borja Presumido, in addition to playing in several First Division teams, has been a junior international with the Spanish national team in the European Championship held in Latvia in 2002-03. The player with more projection is José Manuel Moríñigo, who after signing as a youth player for Valladolid managed to stay in the first team and played several seasons in the ASOBAL League and European championships, playing for Bidasoa on loan until two seasons ago. Currently the player Ana Belén Palomino, player of Porriño is the pride of the club, as it has reached very high levels, becoming European champion in the season 21-22 with his former team Rocasa Gran Canaria.
Club Philosophy
In this Club we are determined that our School has a scientific and pedagogical basis that allows the child to have a sporting training, both physical and technical, but keeping in mind the educational aspect.
On the one hand, our mission is to work with the base and initiate children in our sport based on this philosophy of the game.
We faithfully follow some basic contents:
- No to early specialization.
- Teaching through play.
- Attention to the competition, but not as a priority.
- Teaching to win and to lose.
- Motivation, especially internal, of our players.
- We also set out a series of objectives in a coordinated manner from the outset:
- To educate and, using movement, develop all perceptual and motor skills.
- Develop problem-solving skills.
- Develop specific skills to be effective in sports practice.
Much more
On the other hand, we carry out a more complex and detailed program for the higher categories, where specialization and satisfactory results are sought at a competitive level. This program is applicable from 14-15 years of age.
As can be seen, we differentiate between sport-base and sport-competition, one being as important as the other, but emphasizing the former, which will ultimately provide us with the players for the higher categories.
During the application of these programs we always keep in mind the formation of the individual as a person, using handball to enhance their qualities and abilities, both physical and intellectual.
